What started out as a special treat for the kiddos, has turned in to a weekly (if not daily) thing. Pancakes. They can’t get enough! My son (4) alone will eat 4 pancakes!! 4!! So needless to say, I go through pancakes pretty quickly. While mentioning this to my dear friend (everyone say, “HI CARRIE!”), she gave me some LIFE-SAVING advice….
“Make your pancakes ahead of time and freeze them!” she said. WHAAA? Me, the “Freezer Queen”, never knew I could do such a thing. So, as you can assume, this is how I always do it!
Today, I want to share with you how I make my DIY Ready-Made Homemade Pancakes. Say that 5 times fast!
This is so simple!
First, you make your pancakes. How many ever batches you want, homemade from scratch or out of a box. What ever your preference! Here is a good recipe if you’re feelin’ like cookin’.
After you have them cooked (I usually do 3 batches at a time), then I lay them flat on paper towels so they are cool to the touch.
After they are mostly cooled, I lay them flat on a cooking sheet, again it doesn’t have to be pretty -just clean, and flash freeze them. If you need to know how to do this, refer back to my previous post, here… HOW TO FLASH FREEZE
Lastly, I place them in the bag, and viola! You have some amazing Ready-Made pancakes!!!
To heat them up I just pop them in the microwave for about 1 min for 1 pancake. Add 30 seconds, for any additional.
EASY PEASY! Enjoy!!
SIDE NOTE: I had to share this.. While I was setting up to take some photographs of my already made batch, I had some farmers market strawberries sitting in a bowl to thaw for the photos. No sooner do I turn around, there is Mackenzie (2) munching on them!! She’s lucky she is so cute!
