For those who know my engineer husband, you know he is secretly an accountant, stock broker, AND a number’s addict. I’m talking, Excel spreadsheet showing us our budget and where it will land us for the next 10+ years! PHEW! Just by writing that I’m tired of numbers! How does he do it?!
Well for some, this might seem crazy: and trust me, I thought it was at first too. BUT.. that being said, we would NEVER have been able to purchase our Dream Home, this early if it wasn’t for him strategically placing numbers in that document!
So anyways, I’m rambling!
We were not expecting to look for a new place for another year or so… and then I got a text from my dearest friend, “Hey! The house next door just went on the market. *hint hint*”. I kind of giggled and thought, “oh that would be fun!”. Never taking it seriously. So about a week later I nonchalantly mentioned it to the hubby, thinking he would laugh it off just as I had. After all, we still had a year left on that spreadsheet!
Fast forward 1 week… The hubby came up to me and said, “I keep driving past the house, and I think we should go look at it”. WHHHHAT?! I hadn’t seen it inside, but I was already giddy and picking paint samples!
So needless to say, after much discussion AND PRAYER, WE BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOME!!
The contracts are signed, and we are waiting for our meeting with the mortgaged company this week to get our closing date. (Probably 30 days) Our home is buzzing with boxes, and giddy with excitement!
So this brings me to my next update!
Because we weren’t expecting this blessing, we are EXTRA busy! I’m sure some of you have noticed the last 2 weeks the blog has slowed down some.. this is why! I’m not going to take a step back completely, but I do need to pace myself. So for the next month, I will be around, but I wont be posting as much.
So what will you be seeing this month? Well, expect some packing/ moving tips and advice, as well as some of our plans for upgrading some of the house!
I still can’t believe this is happening! What a whirlwind! Our whole plan has changed, but sometimes the biggest blessings are surprises. God has a plan for us, and I can’t wait to see where it leads!
