When we moved we weren’t really planning on moving at all, let alone purchasing a home. But the Good Lord spoke, and we listened. We are so excited about our first home purchase and I’m sure it can end up being VERY easy to get lost in the sea of updating that we would like to do. So to pace ourselves, we are going to specifically work on ONE ROOM A MONTH. That will help us balance out the reno expenses, as well as take our time finding the perfect pieces to the puzzle.
So every month, starting in AUGUST we will be featuring a space in the house: with before’s, afters, in-betweens, as well as giveaways and exciting DIY projects.!! I’m really so excited to start this!!! So August we will be kicking off with our Kitchen!
Of all the spaces in this house, the kitchen needs the less work. The previous owners had this amazing custom cabinets/ counters put in within the last few years, as well as all new appliances! -SCORE! So we were excited to start this project because it seems like it will be the easiest, which in turn helps us slowing move into the project transition.
This is the before. You can see that it really doesn’t need much, just enough to make it our own. A “Face Lift” as I call it!
We looove all the counter space, and the storage is sufficient for us. The amazing quality of the the cabinetry and appliances were one of the reasons we fell in love with this house! However, we do want to change the sink faucet to a taller option to make pots easier to fill, etc.
The color isn’t something we were crazy about, and the kitchen as a whole seems “unbalanced”. With all the of the tall cabinets on one side, and then the long counter with the sink. The two just seem to be unbalanced. So to create a space that flows more, we would like place a open shelving concept around the sink side window. This will be decorated with my own milk glass collection, as well as some antiques.
This pantry is amazing compared to what I had before… nothing. All I want to do is organize it a little better with more storage solutions and labeling.
1. Open shelving around the sink window
3. New sink faucet
4. Possibly new pendant lights
6. Walls painted
7. Pantry Organization
8. New Rug
Here is the Pinterest Board that is full of inspiration we hope to include. You can follow along!
Stick around and keep an eye out for updates through out the month of August. Once we have the reveal towards the end of the project there will also be a GIVEAWAY! So stay tuned!!
