As I stared into the seemingly bottomless Halloween candy tub, I slowly started to realize that one of two things were going to happen. Either I create something out of these and give them away, or I will eat them all. Lord knows that I can’t afford to gorge on all that chocolate goodness, so off to the drawing board it was!
These babies were so easy and fast to make! I literally made this in less than 20 minutes!! While I was making them I was also thinking of all the other ways I could be creating something amazing with these crescent rolls! Apples? Ham/Cheese? Pizza? I think the possibilities are endless!!
Candy Bar croissants – Less than 20 minutes!
1 can pre-made crescent rolls
candy bar of choice -crushed (I used Kit Kat)
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 teaspoon SHORTening
powdered sugar – Garnish
1 egg -beaten
1.Pre-heat oven to 350 Degrees. While the oven is heating, lay out the triangles of crescent rolls down on counter.
2. Sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon of candy bar onto each triangle, closest to the wider side. Fold triangles up to the small point. Place each roll on to a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, bending each into an arch.
3. Beat egg, and lightly brush onto the tops of each roll. Bake 12-15 minuets (or until they are golden brown)
5. While they are baking you can create the chocolate sauce. Place chocolate chips and shortening into a microwave safe bowl. Heat on regular heat for 20 second intervals, stirring in between.
4. Remove Croissants from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Once cooled off, sprinkle on powdered sugar and chocolate sauce.
5. Serve warm, and enjoy!!

The way that the egg bakes onto the Croissants really give them such a gorgeous glow and crunch! What is great about this recipe is that it is not only helping me get rid of that leftover Halloween candy, but they really are DELICIOUS!!
I honestly think they are simple enough to allow the little ones to help too! I think the idea of splattering chocolate onto something is pretty exciting for them. Not to mention, that the recipe takes such little time, they wont lose interest!
I’m sure you will enjoy these puppies as much as we did! Manga!
