I know that the Elf on the Shelf is something that has well surpassed the welcome with some homes. However, our little ones are just now at the age where it is still a fun tradition to wake up every morning to find our elf, Zippy!
This will be our 3rd Holiday Season for Zippy to be with us! He really finds some crazy scenarios and sometimes he even has meaningful things to say. All in all… he is something that even mom has enjoyed!
We started out our tradition with the introductory book that comes with the Elf. We love this story, and keep it with Christmas decorations so that it is always a “new” storybook to read during the season.
Sometimes Zippy likes to show up with a dramatic entrance! (nothing a little fishing line can’t create)
When Zippy creates tasks to do, it can always be a fun activity that the little ones enjoy! Searching for things like a game of ISpy can surly make for a good time!
Here is Zippy, doing a fly by once again! This time, a character from one of our household favorite movies gave him a joyride!
Zippy enjoyed zip-lining this time, right after he toilet papered our tree!! Silly Zippy!
We often read stories of the reason behind the season… so Zippy also had to share this story with his friends.
Creating a Santa Wish List can be an exciting! But for little ones, it can be hard to remember! So Zippy often times had to remind us!
This time around Zippy decided to fly in with our lists! What toddler doesn’t love a balloon, especially with a message from Zippy!!??
It is pretty well-known that Elves LOOOVE hot chocolate for breakfast. So we all joined in together one morning and had some with breakfast!
A friendly game of Candy Land! The kiddos really got a kick out of this one!
Zippy wanted to be like Daddy this day! A good shave to start this busy Wednesday!
Christmas Tree Shopping with Snow White.. She knows how to find the best ones!
OH you mischievous Zippy!!! This one made for some serious giggles. (and was easy washed with rubbing alcohol)
Our youngest has a birthday in December! So Zippy gave her a special birthday surprise by bringing in the exciting day with a party! He invited his closets friends.
This day our oldest woke up in the middle of the night with a cold! And surprisingly… Zippy caught his germs!!! This day helped with the lesson of washing hands, etc! Poor Zippy… Feel better!!!
Zippy always reminds of the real reason behind the Christmas celebration. A story book and a prayer, can always help to bring in the spirit.
This day Zippy decided to take a bubble bath!!!! (marshmallows) That towel was pretty stinkin’ cute!
Zippy surprised us with a snowman on our usually busy fridge door! He proudly took credit for this Frosty by sitting high!
We are always encouraging acts of kindness. So this was a great way to celebrate making good choices, and spreading Christmas Cheer.
This act of kindness was a fun activity for the little ones to take pride in, and also give some cheer to a friendly neighbor!
Oh BOY! Zippy replaced our stockings with our undies!!!!
Today Zippy had a parade showing off his favorite wheeled friends!
Everybody poops!!! This was during potty training, and make a huge impact on a little one who was nervous to do the deed! (Mini Chocolate Chips!)
Sometimes we aren’t always on our best behavior, and Zippy has to remind us to be good so that we are on the “Nice List”.
And sometimes when we don’t heed his warning, nowhere to be found is he that morning! We need to behave better today and see… if Santa allows the return of He!
Zippy loves to Zip-Line! Why not with a candy cane? The higher the better for curious little hands!
Zippy went fishing!!!
Take a joy ride in the morning will brighten anyways day!!! Toot Toot!!!
Zippy wanted to share one of his favorite treats! He brought us these “special snowmen from the North Pole”!
We had needed to purchase a new Christmas Star. So Zippy, being the nice little guy he is, decided to bring us a special one! He left it just for Zane to add that morning. What a nice honor!
Mommy can be very busy sometimes… So Zippy likes to help by putting the Christmas Decorations up overnight!
Another great lesson about that Christ Child. Can you imagine… holding the baby Jesus?
Zippy likes to show his creative side! He had the machines help with the job.
What Elf doesn’t like to make a snow angel out of… SPRINKLES!!!!??
Zippy always tries to make an entrance, and he always tries to make a fun exit. This year, he gave us some special Elf Milk, and reminded us to set out treats for the Big Guy!
Zippy likes to leave us a sweet note of encouragement and thankfulness. This letter read:
Dear Z and M,
Tonight is the night that Santa arrives,
so when it is bedtime you must be quick to close your eyes!
Because you have both been so very good,
Santa will bring you some of the Christmas wishes that your list has asked he could.
As my book has described when Christmas is here,
away I must go until the next year.
I know you will miss me, as I will miss you…
But if you are good and remember me too,
Next year after thanksgiving I will again return.
For more fun and mischief and lessons to learn!
I’m eager to see what Zippy get’s into this year!!!
